1 PIN ROUND MAGNETIC CONNECTOR

Engineering Summary

This 1 pin round magnetic connector uses a compact circular mating interface with one central electrical contact and a rear axial cable lead. The cable-terminated structure can be integrated into custom equipment where a removable round magnetic interface is required.

The visible center contact defines the one-pin interface. The electrical function of the surrounding annular structure and the complete return path should be confirmed by the approved wiring and connector drawings.

Magnets primarily assist capture and retention during mating. Final position, alignment and seating should be established by the circular housing, mating surfaces and mechanical datums rather than magnetic attraction alone.

Round Concentric Connector Architecture

The cable-side connector uses a round front mating face with a central contact and concentric surrounding structure. The cable exits from the rear along the connector axis.

This architecture can be evaluated where a compact circular mating envelope and straight cable routing behind the connector are compatible with the device layout.

Pin Count 1 Pin

Shape Round / circular

Cable Routing Rear / axial cable lead

Mating Geometry Concentric circular interface

One-Pin Electrical Architecture and Return Path

One central electrical contact is visible, but a complete electrical circuit still requires a defined return path.

The approved wiring diagram should identify the function of the center contact, the surrounding ring and any other conductive structure involved in the electrical path.

Center Contact Function → Defined by Approved Drawing
Outer Ring Function → To Be Confirmed
Complete Return Path → Defined by Approved Wiring Diagram

If the outer annular structure is used as an electrical return contact, its material, surface finish, interface resistance and cable termination should be included in the complete conductive-path validation.

Axial Cable Termination

The reference configuration uses a cable or wire lead exiting from the rear of the round connector body along the connector axis.

Cable length, conductor count, wire gauge, cable outer diameter, jacket construction, strain relief and the opposite-end termination should be defined according to the project.

The axial cable route should be reviewed against the available installation depth, minimum cable bend radius and device housing geometry.

Magnetic Capture and Mechanical Seating

The magnetic structure assists the connector during approach and helps retain the mating interface after engagement.

Capture force, retention force, separation force and peel force describe different mechanical conditions and should be specified separately where required.

Final alignment and seating should be controlled by the circular housing geometry and mechanical mating datums.

Stronger magnetic retention is not automatically better. The required holding and release behavior should be selected according to cable routing, device mass, mounting structure and expected use conditions.

Rotational Mating and Polarity

A round connector should not automatically be described as providing unrestricted 360-degree electrical mating.

Rotational freedom depends on the electrical symmetry of the center contact and surrounding ring, polarity requirements, mechanical keying and device-side mating structure.

If rotational mating is required, the permitted rotation and electrical behavior should be defined in the approved electrical and mechanical drawings.

Contact Compliance and Working Stroke

The image confirms one central contact position, but the internal spring-loaded contact structure should be confirmed by the approved contact drawing.

If the center contact uses a pogo-pin structure, working stroke, total travel, spring force and installed compression should be specified separately.

Working stroke defines the intended operating compression, while total travel represents the available mechanical movement of the contact.

The connector housing should establish the final seated position. A spring-loaded contact should provide electrical connection and controlled Z-axis compliance rather than act as the primary mechanical hard stop.

Current Capability and Complete Conductive Path

Current capability cannot be determined from the center-contact diameter or one-pin description alone.

Source → Cable Conductors → Cable Termination → Magnetic Connector Contact → Mating Interface → Device-Side Termination → PCB / Wiring → Load → Confirmed Return Path

Vdrop = I × Rpath
Ploss = I² × Rpath

Cable length, conductor gauge, termination resistance, center-contact resistance, return-path resistance, mating condition and device-side wiring should be evaluated together before a continuous-current rating is released.

Continuous current and peak current should be defined separately when the application includes transient or intermittent loading.

Device-Side Integration

The mating-side connector structure is not defined by the reference image and should be confirmed from the device drawing.

PCB, FPC, wire, cable, panel or housing integration should only be stated after the mounting and termination architecture has been approved.

The mating-side component should establish the required mechanical position without using the spring-loaded electrical contact as the primary structural stop.

Environmental and Reliability Validation

Round geometry and a recessed contact structure do not by themselves establish corrosion resistance, waterproof performance or mating-cycle capability.

Contact material, plating, housing construction, cable materials and environmental requirements should be defined and validated for the specific project.

An IP rating should only be stated after the complete mating interface, device installation and sealing architecture have been defined and tested.

FAQ

Is this product a magnetic connector or a magnetic charging cable?

This product is defined as a round magnetic connector with an axial cable lead. The core product is the magnetic mating interface rather than a predefined finished charging cable assembly.

How many contacts does this round magnetic connector use?

The visible connector uses one central contact. The electrical function of the surrounding annular structure should be confirmed from the approved wiring diagram.

How is the electrical return path defined?

The return path must be defined in the approved electrical design. If the surrounding ring is electrically active, its termination and interface resistance should be included in the complete conductive-path review.

What voltage and current can this connector support?

Voltage and current are project-specific. Current capability must be validated through the cable, termination, center contact, mating interface, device-side connection and complete return path.

Does the round connector automatically support 360-degree mating?

No. Circular geometry alone does not establish unrestricted rotational mating. Electrical symmetry, polarity, mechanical keying and the mating-side architecture must be confirmed.

Is the center contact a spring-loaded pogo pin?

The image confirms a central contact position, but the internal spring-loaded mechanism, working stroke and total travel should be confirmed by the approved contact drawing.

What magnetic force should be specified?

Capture force, retention force, separation force and peel force should be distinguished. The required values depend on the mating direction, cable routing, device mass and mounting structure.

Is this round magnetic connector waterproof?

No IP rating should be inferred from the round connector geometry. Environmental protection depends on the complete mating interface, device installation and sealing structure.

What information is required for a custom version?

Provide the electrical functions, return path, voltage, continuous and peak current, cable requirements, available installation space, connector dimensions, mating-side structure, magnetic requirements and available drawings.

Engineering Review for 1 Pin Round Magnetic Connector with Axial Cable Lead

This product page presents a CTP magnetic cable assembly configuration for engineering reference. Final dimensions, electrical ratings, materials, magnet structure, sealing level and reliability targets are not universal values; they are confirmed against the approved drawing, installation condition and model-specific validation plan.

Information to provide for evaluation

  • source-side interface and device-side magnetic head
  • pin definition, current, voltage and signal requirements
  • cable length, conductor, jacket, shielding and strain relief
  • magnetic retention, polarity, sealing, color and packaging
  • sample quantity, validation plan and forecast volume

How specifications are confirmed

CTP reviews the application and prepares a drawing or specification for approval before sample production. Test scope, acceptance criteria and report format should identify the model, sample status, method, conditions, result and review date.

Can this magnetic cable assembly be customized?

Yes. Customization can cover geometry, contact layout, materials, cable construction, magnetic structure, sealing and appearance. Feasibility depends on the application and approved specification.

Are the electrical and waterproof values universal?

No. Current, voltage, resistance, temperature rise and ingress-protection claims apply only to the identified model and stated test conditions.

What determines sample and production timing?

Timing is confirmed after the drawing, materials, tooling, sample quantity, validation scope and production requirements have been reviewed.
