Frequently Asked Engineering Questions

⚙️

Engineering & Tech Specs

What is the maximum current capacity?

Our standard pins handle 1A-3A. For automotive and E-mobility, our high-current custom modules can safely deliver up to 40A to 60A continuously.

How do you achieve IPX8 waterproof rating?

We use advanced internal O-ring sealing, precise insert molding, and proprietary potting techniques to ensure the connector resists prolonged water immersion.

📐

Customization & OEM

How long does custom prototyping take?

With our in-house CNC lab, once the 3D CAD is approved, we can deliver functional physical prototypes in just 3 to 5 business days.

Will you sign an NDA before reviewing drawings?

Absolutely. We strictly protect our clients' intellectual property and will happily sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before any technical files are shared.

🏭

Orders & Manufacturing

What is your standard MOQ and Lead Time?

MOQ for standard parts is 10K pcs. Custom modules vary by tooling. Mass production lead time is typically 2-3 weeks, supported by our agile manufacturing lines.

Do you support SMT automated assembly?

Yes, we provide standard Tape & Reel packaging with pick-and-place caps to ensure our connectors integrate seamlessly into your SMT reflow soldering process.

🛡️

Quality & Compliance

Are your connectors RoHS and REACH compliant?

Yes, 100%. All raw materials, from the brass barrels to the gold plating and housing plastics, strictly comply with global environmental standards.

What is your salt spray test standard?

Our standard plating passes 48H salt spray. For medical and industrial applications, we offer upgraded plating that withstands up to 600 hours of continuous salt spray.

Connector Glossary

Technical Terms Explained

Clear definitions to help you navigate the complexities of connector engineering.

Blind Mating

The ability to connect two halves of a connector system without visual guidance. Utilizing N52 magnet arrays, our connectors self-align and snap together effortlessly, improving user experience.

Contact Resistance

The electrical resistance encountered at the physical intersection of the pogo pin plunger and the contact pad. CTP engineers this to remain ultra-low (typically < 30mΩ) for stable transmission.

Spring Force

The mechanical pressure exerted by the internal spring. It must be perfectly balanced with the magnetic force to ensure continuous connection without pushing the magnets apart.

IPX8 Rating

An international protection standard indicating that the connector is completely protected against continuous immersion in water under conditions specified by the manufacturer.

Skin-Friendly Plating

Specialized bio-compatible and nickel-free surface treatments applied to connectors used in smart wearables and medical devices to prevent human skin allergies and resist sweat corrosion.

Pitch Size

The center-to-center distance between adjacent pogo pins. Smaller pitches allow for ultra-compact footprints essential for TWS earbuds and smart rings.
