The former catalog grouped connectors into broad pin-count ranges. The current catalog separates individual pin counts so buyers can reach a more precise product page.
Start with 2 Pin for a basic two-contact interface or 3 Pin when an additional detection, identification or signal contact may be required. One-pin structures should be reviewed as a special project.
Review 4 Pin and 5 Pin categories when the interface needs power contacts plus additional signal, control, detection or identification channels.
Begin with the 6 Pin category when six defined contacts are required. Use the Multi-Pin category for higher contact counts, multi-row layouts or more complex channel allocation.
Select the Round category when the connector's circular geometry, mating orientation or device integration is more important than grouping it only by pin count.

Two connectors may use the same number of contacts but require completely different structures because of mating direction, device shape and installation space.
Consider a linear layout when the available installation area is long and narrow, the mating direction is defined and the contacts can be arranged in one or more rows.

The same pin count can support different circuit functions, shapes, pitches and mounting structures. Confirm contact allocation first.
Current capability depends on contact structure, material, contact allocation and thermal conditions, not only the total number of contacts.
A connector component and a finished cable assembly are different supply scopes. Cable length, wire and output interface must be considered separately.
Circular layouts affect mating orientation, device structure, PCB arrangement and mechanical positioning. They are not only a visual choice.
Connector dimensions must be reviewed together with housing tolerance, PCB position, compression distance and mating alignment.
